Reebok: John Wall mural

This is an illustration I created for Reebok used for a three pack shoe for the John Walls Zig Encore Sneaker. The images goes across 3 shoeboxes when stacked vertically. The idea was to showcase the stages in his basketball career with colors/mascots/elements from his high school at the bottom, college in the middle and professional career at the top.

BOB HURLEY HALL OF FAME (REEBOK ZIGSLASH)

The March 2011 issue of Slam magazine has a shoe designed for Bobby Hurley Sr.'s induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame. I created graphics and the color blocking on the shoe. Bobby Hurley Sr. is the head coach for St. Anthony's high school and the shoe has all of his career milestones written on the side along with the Hall of Fame logo on the tongue. It was debuted on ESPN in January where all of the St. Anthony players were wearing the shoes in the game. I also had a chance to get a photo with him and my shoe.

A few months ago I did a couple of shirts for the basketball camp, Shooting Touch, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Boston that I have worked with before. This was quite exciting to find something I did in a magazine I grew up reading.

Meeting David Choe...

Meeting David Choe, I have to admit, was the highlight of the month for me. Last weekend I went to Fashion's Night Out in New York to support my friend and illustrator Kathryn Elyse of Paperfashion. While in New York I learned that David Choe was in town for his book signing at Giant Robot and I just couldn't to miss the chance to meet one of my favorite artists. His work is amazing. He even commented that he liked the shirt I had on ( I illustrated it for Reebok)

This is the first strike-off for a t-shirt I designed for the Reebok Blacktop line. Blacktop's slogan is to "Come strong or don't come at all". With that, I designed the t-shirt as a multi-city advertisement poster for a street basketball tournament.

A day at the beach...

Last Saturday I spent the day on the beach sketching and hangout with some friends. I liked the change in atmosphere and I tried to tell the story of the environment. It was good practice for life drawing even though people were moving a lot. Here is what I came up with.
